HERMES MAXIBOX CABAS BAG

Hermes-Maxibox-Cabas-Bag

When Hermes first launched the Maxibox Bag, we quickly thought of it as a great travel bag or a weekend bag because of the huge space that’s designed in the interior. The bag is quite large, just like a large duffle bag.

Now the fashion house went even further by introducing the new Hermes Maxibox Cabas Bag. It’s now also available a tote bag version. To be honest, the bag looks smooth, lady-like and the stitched corners create a balanced appeal. Without the distinctive corners, this bag would just be one of those designer tote bags.

Crafted from Evercolor calfskin, the reinforced stitched corners are made from Epsom calfskin. Refined with palladium-plated silver hardware, this bag can be carried by hand, on the elbow or jut shoulder carry. There are obvious more colors available, you need to check with the SA for more information.

Measuring 23 x 30 x 14 (L x H x D) cm, priced at €3300 euro or £2880 GBP via Hermes boutique.

So what do you think? Is it nice or overpriced?

The Hermès Birkin International Price Guide

Categories:Other Brands

There is no designer handbag in the world as elusive as the Hermès Birkin. The legendary French leather goods house keeps a tight lid on everything about the bag, from the best way to get one to which colors and leathers might be available in a particular size or hardware type at any given time. Among the biggest mysteries around the Hermès Birkin, though, is its pricing structure, and we’ve done some digging to clear up Birkin prices as much as we can.

Beyond general Hermès secrecy, several factors make determining Birkin prices tricky. First, the bag’s price varies widely among Hermès’s extensive leather offerings, even before you start looking at exotics. There’s also much variation between international markets, and since Birkins are sought-after worldwide, understanding how currency and location can affect what you pay is important for the brand’s high-flying clientele. There are also frequent price increases to take into account–finding an Hermès Birkin price list from a year ago likely won’t give you an accurate picture of what the bag will cost now. On top of that, pop culture media loves to inflate the Birkins price tag to bring in readers looking to gawk at the wealthy–$30,000 is often the fake price tag used, and even Fortune claims the bags start at $12,000, which is patently false.

What we’ve set out to do is create an Hermès Birkin price list for three of the most common leathers–Clemence, Togo and Epsom–in the four sizes that are commonly used as women’s handbags. Right now, we’re focusing on the US, eurozone Europe, the United Kingdom and Japan, which are the four global markets for which pricing information is most available. Below, check out our findings, pulled from bothour PurseForum and price lists across the web.

The information is incomplete, but we’ll be filling it in as much as possible as we find more information. If you know any current prices that aren’t represented below, please let us know in the comments!

Hermès Grooming Bag In Khaki

Categories:Other Brands

IMAGE: JSK

While not many of us can hold claim to owning horses (and by horses I mean the actual magnificent beasts and not anything from My Little Pony), this is one bag many of us sure wouldn’t mind owning for ourselves. Simply known as the Grooming Bag, part of Hermès’ equestrian line that’s focused on bags one would use whilst tending to their horses (again, I’m referring to the real four-legged animals), I can also see this bag used by both men and women. Besides being available in this stunning shade ofKhaki, it comes with multiple compartments as well.

For starters, there’s the main compartment that comes with a zip pocket and a removable inside pouch that’s also machine-washable. Then there is the additional pair of side pockets (one on each side of the bag) that’s a huge bonus. Made of hard-wearing, water-resistant canvas, the bag, which sports a pair of short top handles, also comes with additional shoulder sling that’s also removable, which all is all is just jaw-droppingly awesome as far as I’m concerned.

Guys can use the bag, which comes printed with the words ‘Hermes Sellier Paris’ printed across it, as an everyday tote great for the gym or quick weekend getaways; the girls can also do the same and/or use it as a diaper bag that’s frankly not too girly-girl, meaning their menfolk will no longer have excuses when asked to help out when baby is out and about.

Priced at USD1975 (which is around SGD2260 after conversion), the only information I’m lacking on this beauty is its actual size, its price in Singapore and if it is even available here. Which just means one thing. I’ll be popping down to Hermès Liat Towers tomorrow, so wish me (and my wallet) luck.

HERMÈS BUYS STAKE IN PIERRE HARDY

Categories:Designer Shoes

Following a solid first financial quarter in 2016 (during which shoes performed better than usual), Hermès has made an investment outside of its own business. On Wednesday, the luxury brand announced it has taken a minority stake in footwear designer Pierre Hardy's namesake line.

Of course, Hardy has been designing shoes for Hermès since 1990 and jewelry since 2001, so the relationship is nothing new. Still, it's a big move and a major vote of confidence in the luxury footwear space for the French company, which also owns men's shoe brand John Lobb. "I'm delighted with our partnership with Pierre Hardy, which shows how proud we are to support creative talent and incredible expertise as part of this unique tribe that strives for excellence," said Hermès International Chief Executive Axel Dumas in a statement.

Hardy has helmed his own brand since 1999; he has opened three stand-alone stores, the most recent having opened in Japan, and collaborated with Gap in 2011. He's expanded into handbags more recently, and we'll surely be seeing more rapid growth in the years to come, with Hermès's resources.
